As a bar owner or manager, you have decided to purchase custom drink tokens. Whether to sell to your customers or give out as a marketing promotion, you want the tokens to look great and have the feel of your bar. You don't want to have an extremely plain drink token that doesn't fit the style of your bar. With custom ceramic poker chips, the customization is unlimited so you should make full use of the possibilities. So, how do you do that?
The fastest way, and possibly the best way, to do this is to search around for designs that other bars have used. Do some Google searches, look through our site, check out the tokens your local competitors use. Find the designs that catch your eye and that you really like. Without copying the design, you can use the style or layout to help quickly design your own custom drink tokens.
Here is an example. Let's say you like how clean this drink token design is for a bar with a rock music theme:
You like the layout and the clean design, but you own a gastropub so the style doesn't quite fit. All you have to do is show us this design that you like, provide us with any logos or photos that you may have for your bar, and then explain any changes you would like to see. This includes the background, colors, text, font, the text on the edge, and anything else you can think of. A gastropub may be more interested in promoting small batch and local beers. A rustic wood background may fit this feel. What is unique about this is that we can continue that wood grain background onto the edge. These will make great looking custom drink tokens!
Beer tokens are a necessity for any bar that wants to maximize profits. These tokens are generally purchased before any alcohol is poured and then turned in, one at a time, for a "free" drink. However, some customers will lose them, or just not want another drink so they will throw them out. Each lost or tossed beer token is pure profit for the bar. The problem is that when a bar owner looks to purchase their own tokens, there is an almost unlimited amount of options. What should a bar owner look for when purchasing beer tokens or their establishment?
A similar option are plastic beer tokens. These are practically the same thing as the wooden option, except the base color can vary. Since these are very similar, they have the same issues. Many are not customized. Those that are customized are very limited in what kind of customization can be done. They fill the need, but run into problems with counterfeits and, frankly, just don't look that great.
There is one more option that we have seen before - custom poker chips. However, be aware that most of what you can find are cheap plastic poker chips. While these may look good at first glance, there are problems that you have to consider if you want to purchase these for your bar.
While full color prints are possible, you are still limited to just the center of the chip. The base chip is the same chip that any other bar can order. You can not customize the rim of the chip or the edge of the poker chip. That is not the biggest problem, though. These chips use a printed inlay, either just paper or vinyl. These are not permanent and they are very easy to duplicate. So, any customer with a color printer can reproduce these chips VERY easily. These are much more easily counterfeited than the wooden or plastic beer tokens. These are not recommended for any establishment because of this security risk.
This leaves us with one more option... custom ceramic poker chips. There are several benefits when these are used for beer tokens. These chips are fully custom from rim to rim, and the edge can be customized. The customization includes full color prints, so photos and full color logos look great! The edge can have text printed on it, which can include a phone number, address, website address, company slogan, or anything else. Besides all of these benefits, custom ceramic beer tokens are permanent and can not be easily counterfeited. The image is a part of the chips and is not a label, sticker or anything else that can be peeled. The printing process is complex, so no one will be able to purchase blank chips to reproduce a bar's beer tokens.

Let's face it, many of the guests at your wedding will be looking forward to the alcohol served at the reception. Of course, some guests want to see an open bar, but depending on what is served and how much the guests drink this could cause the newly wed couple to go broke. That's not a way to start a marriage. So, these days, many wedding celebrations allot a certain number of drinks to each guest. To keep track of these drinks, tokens are used.
For a wedding reception that uses drink tokens, each guest is given a certain number of tokens. This number can vary, but is often 3 or 4 drinks. These are then turned in when the guest orders a drink from the bartender.
As with almost everything associated with the wedding - the invitations, the flowers, the centerpieces, the keepsakes, and so on - the drink tokens used are often customized. They will be designed to fit the style of the wedding and will almost always include the names of the bride and groom, and may even include a picture.
So, if the custom wedding poker chips are turned in for drinks and kept with the bartender, how are these memorable? This is simple. As with most open bars, make the tokens redeemable for only a certain amount of time. Once they are not redeemable, thus not worth a drink, they can then be distributed as keepsakes. Custom tokens are the best choice for newlyweds that want their guests to have something to remember the day.
This is why custom poker chips are the best option for wedding drink tokens. These ceramic poker chips are fully custom, so a full color photo of the couple will look outstanding! Use one side of the chip to indicate that it is worth a free drink, but then use the other side for a photo and the date of the wedding. Everyone will be able to bring a chip or two home after the wedding to remember the special day. The chips last forever and will not fade or chip so they are the perfect choice.
